KQJxx Axx AQx Kx

Pard opens, standard agreements

1º I supose 3h shoud be suit trial that pard denies with 3S

1D pass 1S pass
2S pass 3h pass
3S pass 4n pass
5h pass 5n pass
1 king

Pard didnot accept the heart suit trial, should be this king the club King?
Pard didnot bid 3N, so maybe is minimun. Didnt bid 3S over 1S.
Pard didnt bid 4H over 3H that could show the 4432?
May I expect a four or longer diamond where to pitch the 2 hearts loser?

With all of this, do u try for 7?

I would have never bid 5N in the first place. You have already tried for 7 with that. You have no assurances of making 6.

Hi,

No, dont chase rainbows.

If your method are not good enough accept it,
... you may work on your methods, e.g. play
specific King ask, in which case you dont have
to guess, if partner holds the King of diamonds
or hearts, but this future.

For whats it worth I would also bid 3S if I hold a
dead min. opener, i.e. just because I did not accept
the game invitation, does not mean, that I dont have
the King of hearts.

And partners most likely hand is still a weak NT.

With kind regards
Marlowe

Quite likely PD has a min here. He rejected the game try and you are off 1 king. I think bidding the grand is anti-percentage as PD isn't favorite to have just what you need.

Playing standard methods (opening style) and no specific king replies to 5NT I'd never do anything else than just bidding 6 over the BW reply.

Playing with two of my three regular partners I'd bid 5NT and 7 (or NT even) if partner replied 6 (showing the K) since partner would be 95% sure to hold 5c in our methods.
Kind regards,
Harald
