Club.
"Gibberish in, gibberish out. A trial judge, three sets of lawyers, and now three appellate judges cannot agree on what this law means. And we ask police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and citizens to enforce or abide by it? The legislature continues to write unreadable statutes. Gibberish should not be enforced as law."

Do you think that, even on such an auction, they would drive to slam with who-knows-how-much spade wastage? I don't mean this as a facetious question. I am just wondering whether opps spades might be divided Hxxx / Hx so that A-other spade is required to defeat it.
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy - but it might improve my bridge.

Club lead seems quite aggressive, I'm not sure if that's good or not. I don't really have any attractive options though for a passive lead, but it seems like a good spot to go passive. I would probably lead a diamond.

I'll lead a diamond through LHO, who is the strong hand.

Incidently, it's quite possible opps messed up their bidding, so there might be no need for a risky lead.

Hi,

ok, responder is weak with hearts,
say 6 card suit with 7/8 HCP, if they
play Acol, they may respond with 2H
with 9-10HCP.

My main aim, would be go passive, slam
will barely be making, at least not on pure HCP
power, and my aim would be to not present them
with an underseved trick.

I am going with my singelton trump,
... may solve the trump suit.

I went passive like Marlowe... but in hindsight I think it is much too passive. Justin and whereagle's lead is the winning action here.

So in fact you needed to be aggressive and set up a trick quickly. It just happens that diamonds set up a trick instead of clubs.

Maybe not unreasonable because LHO can be expected to have good honors in both minors while LHO won't have much outside of hearts.

This is interesting. I felt the diamond lead was better, but I couldn't tell why. Perhaps because I know the club finesse is working, whereas the diamond one is NOT?

I'm normally an agressive opening leader, certainly vs slams. But a ♣ seems very dangerous with an 18-19NT or something like that in dummy.

I'd either lead a ♦ to set up a trick or the ♠A to try for a ruff with partner. Not sure what I'd chose at the table and before seing the complete layout.
