I just made a very obscure play this evening that catered to lunacy in an intricate manner, and it reminded me of my favorite.
I'm sure folks know about the story hand where some bridge great from the past played to and end-position of essentially a side King and the three of an established suit on dummy, a side king and some pip in the established suit in hand, and both side Aces to his right. When the expert called for the trump three from dummy, RHO could not remember whether the deuce had been played and was caught in a strange pseudo squeeze.
Well, I saw this layout looming on a hand, with one major problem. I would end up, no matter what I did (RHO could not have both functional Aces anyway), in my hand at the end position, with LHO holding the two functional Aces. As he would see my pip in hand, because I would play that card first and before him, there would be no pseudo squeeze, obviously. However, I decided to play for that layout and see how dumb the person really was.
To add complexity to this amazingly stupid ending, I actually had to transfer a menace in one of the side suits to LHO early in the hand, specifically to set up this stupid end position. I did, in fact, transfer the menace, mostly for my own amusement, and set out for this very end position.
Shockingly, the menace transfer was successful, did catch LHO in a pseudo squeeze with the cards on the friggin' table, and the oaf pitched wrong!!!
I'll best that this is the most elaborate idiot-cater play anyone can provide, but I'd love to hear more.
BTW, the play this evening was something that I'd call a suicide intentional immaterial non-squeeze. I intentionally did not hold up in a suit because I wanted the Declarer to have more idle cards in her hand so that she would have more opportunities to go wrong. In the end, she had seven tricks that she could take out of the last six cards but only took five because she had too many idle cards and massive, fatal, and insane indecision. The sick part was that I played for that "problem."

"Gibberish in, gibberish out. A trial judge, three sets of lawyers, and now three appellate judges cannot agree on what this law means. And we ask police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and citizens to enforce or abide by it? The legislature continues to write unreadable statutes. Gibberish should not be enforced as law."

My opponents often find nice idiot-catering plays but I must admit I haven't seen any that go this deep.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.
