MP white/white

Partner opens 1H (10-14) in 3rd. RHO doubles. You bid 2, showing a sound 3 card raise. And then:

p-p-1-X
2-2-p-3
p-3NT-p-p
?

Would you double? Partner is sometimes imaginative, but you have never seen him psyche in a year long partnership.
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

No. We've shown our hand and we have no diamond stopper. If they are way too high then we get a good score anyway.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

Partner is white third seat, we have no diamond stopper and soft values (so if they are bidding it based on tricks, it will make), we have shown our values, etc. Xing makes no sense.

Did partner open in 3rd or in 4th seat?

Do we? Maybe it is supposed to be in +110 our way?
I think in a weak field you can double for free here, if they make game with 20hcp you have a 0 anyway, but the difference between +100 and +300 may be big. Usually I would pass.

lol 20 points. RHO Xed and bid a new suit, LHO free bid and bid 3N. Arend this may surprise you but sometimes partner will open in this position with less than 10 points, and this seems to be one of those times. Not to mention if they have 20 points, RHO has Xed and bid 3D very lightly and must have very long diamonds to do something like that.

edit: I guess before I get too snide I should ask, did partner actually open in 4th as indicated here:

Partner opens 1H (10-14) in 4th.

or did he open in third as indicated here:

Quote

p-p-1♥-X
2♣-2♠-p-3♦
p-3NT-p-p
?

3rd seat of course. And it was RHO who doubled, not LHO. My typing is horrible, I am sorry.

Clearcut pass. I bid my hand and i have many soft values and just A as a control, Opps can make easily 3nt with 18hcp (Suppose partner helds Kxx KQxxx xx KJx) due to their long suit and aces

Clear pass. I thought the redoubles in the BB final taught somebody the futility of some of these doubles... :)
Kind regards,

If LHO had pulled the 4NT card then said oops I meant to bid 3NT, but not been allowed to take it back and been stuck with his 4NT bid, I wouldn't even double that.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.
