you hold:

x
AQ
KQJxx
AQ7xx

RHO deals+opens 1, 4+ unless 4432, and you don't like your situation. what's your general plan?
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

Pass. It will probably go

1 pass 1M pass
2M

and now you can bid 2NT for the minors.

I´ll bid 2 Club.
1. Sabine says: Always bid 2 Club over 1 Diamond
2. I don´t like to pass with 18 HCPs, even if this hand has some serious downgrading values.
Kind Regards

Roland

Indeed she does, but that was in the context of having 8 points rather than 18 :)

OTOH I'm still thinking what to do and at least you've made a decision.

if you pass, LHO will bid 2, wjs, and RHO may or may not bid 3, non-invitational. what now?
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.
