I learned the rule of 6 8 and 10 to double on the 1./2./3. level. SO I have enough HCps. But I have minimum and the wrong shape, so easy pass.

♠ Jx
♥ J10xx
♦ J10xx
♣ KQx

had been an auto double.
Kind Regards

Roland

No.

I may do it, but I would know, I am to light,
and the auction may turn out in a way, that
I may regret it. My partner still trusts me.

Pass. This hand is a piece of junk. If partner balances with a Dbl, I bid 3♥ (Lebensohl situation).

... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

I though it was 8-10-12 :), but I am talking about spade overcalls (wich mean partner's bid is at the next level)

Clear pass.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

Looks clear to pass. When we have spade length there's no need to stretch.

I wouldn't mind a double with more of a classic/true neg X shape, i.e.

xx J10xx J10x KQ10x

(a jack less even), as you can withstand with whatever partner does. I won't claim it to be the greatest negative double, but it would be tolerable.

This particular hand is both the wrong shape, and wrong count for the neg X, though. You will be poorly placed over a 3C call, and 3D will not be that great either.
Is the word "pass" not in your vocabulary?
So many experts, not enough X cards.

Clear pass with 8 HCP, lotsa jacks, only 3 cards in ♣ and a mediocre at best 4 card ♥ suit.

PD is allowed to balance if we pass, or perhaps the opps get too high and I can take a whack at them in ♠.

Pass...not close to good enough to force PD to the 3 level by a direct negX.
