I bid 2S, GF 6-5, The spade suit is bad enough so that 1S is reasonable.

All well and good if you play it, but that seems like a special agreement. In the US anyway, I am confident this following is standard undiscussed for experts, as well as being BWS

1♠ = 4+ spades, forcing 1 round, any strength.
2♠ = Artificial game forcing, denies 4 spades (that part is only implied in BWS though not explicitely stated.)

The followup to the 1♠ bid, though I haven't often heard it discussed, I understand to be if responder rebids 2♠ that is game invitational, 3♠ game forcing, both showing 5-6. If responder is weak 5-6 he either responds 1♠ to begin with or is stuck never showing his spade length. In any case that means this hand is certainly a 1♠ bid now, and if partner bids 1NT or 2♣ next you choose between 2♠, 3♠, or maybe 3♦.

1♠ ---- 4+♠ and forcing one round. 2♠ would have been GF denying 4♠, usually with bal with 5♦ or with ♣ fit or good long diamonds

Ok, now for the "amazing" part. At least, it amazes (or baffles) me. Make sure you have a barf bag handy.

At the table, this hand rebid 3N (which I think is a terrible call). It goes pass pass, and RHO hold AKQJ10x of clubs did not double. If he did, do you think X here should call for a club lead? or a spade?

At many tables in this tournament, this hand did bid 1S, and the auction proceeded.

1♣-1♦-1♥-1♠
1NT-3N!!!!-p-p-?

Not 2S, not 3S, but 3N!!! Amazing!!!

And RHO Doubled!! (amazing, since he is now on lead with 6 cashing tricks, and should not want opponents to run.)

In 3 of these cases, one of the two hands actually XX'd!! And then, the other hand sat for it!!!

All in all, some pretty amazing stuff.

Looks like normal club bidding to me, partner has clubs and hearts, I have diamonds and spades, so we play 3N. (Often this logic applies even with a combined holding of 20-21 hcp.)

Yes, I think the proper word is "bad", not "amazing".

I would make the forcing spade call, whichever that is.

I agree, 3N could easily be a better spot than 4S even if we had a 5-3 spade fit.

I think 3nt is sick...

Its possible that 3nt is the best contract but its also possible that 4♠ or 5♦ or a slam is there and a 3nt bid make no moves for finding them. Partner could easily have a 3415 shapes with some extras by keeping the bidding open you are freerolling.
From Psych "I mean, Gus and I never see eye-to-eye on work stuff.
For instance, he doesn't like being used as a human shield when we're being shot at.
I happen to think it's a very noble way to meet one's maker, especially for a guy like him.
Bottom line is we never let that difference of opinion interfere with anything."

Are you assuming that if partner bids 3NT you are never allowed to move on?

3nt is signoff

Even if 1♠ is 100% GF i still think openener is limited to 15 pts for his 1nt rebid.

If 1♠ is Art GF and 1nt only show a ♠ stopper but could be any strenght then partner can bid over 3nt. Otherwise he cannot.

Plus if 1♠ is art GF then 3nt is one of the worst bid i can imagine since you you can bid an easy 2♦ or 2♠ to further describe your shape.
