Few of your know this, but I have become a transformed parent of three wonderful cats: Bugatti, a male corvat, Bacianna, a female calico, and our new addition, Bella, who was brought home while I was away in Nashville at the NABC's. I have found their company to be quite comforting, especially Buggie, who enjoys a good tummy tickle from time to time.

Obviously I've been reading a lot about cats and I stumbled upon this link discussing cats and diabetes. I found it thought-provoking:

Fat Cats

Any thoughts?

When in Cuba (well, it is legal for us to visit there and no, I was not at Guantanamo) I saw the cats around the hotel and guess what? They looked like the felines that you see on travelogues (cheetahs, leopards etc.). Thin as a rail and quick as lightning.

The blobs that we maintain here (tummy fur dragging on the floor, easily mistaken for throw rugs when they lie down etc.) are classic examples of a full feed dish all day long with added hi-cal treats thrown in from time to time. Almost qualifies as cruelty to animals.....
The Grand Design, reflected in the face of Chaos...it's a fluke!
