The only thing that changed yest was that we moved the web pages from one machine to another.

www.bbotv.com used to reside on 70.84.141.4
Now it resides on 74.54.55.178

We changed DNS yesterday so that www.bbotv would point to 74.54.55.178

What security settings do you need to tweak ?
1. Can you try clearing your browser cache and trying again?
2. in a DOS window, can you try running
ipconfig /flushdns
and trying again ?

Fred and Uday

This is a feedback to your new VuGraphBBOTV.

I tried to simultaneously watch action on 4 tables of the first Bermuda Bowl session, all on one monitor. I had problems sizing the windows the way that I would be able to see the most all at the same time.

What would help is to left align the actual table area so it is positioned immediately above the chat. Is it possible?

If I am visualizing the problem correctly, I don't think your proposed solution will help.

The problem you are experiencing (assuming I understand correctly) is not a function of the position of the table area in its window - it is a function of the size of the window itself. If you resize that window to make it "thinner" then I suspect you will be able to create enough space on your screen to see all 4 tables at once.

I am assuming you either have a big high resolution monitor or extraordinary eyesight - otherwise there is not much point in even trying this as all 4 windows will be too small for most people's eyes.

As you probably noticed, the table area automatically resizes itself according to the size of the container that it occupies. The table makes itself as big as it possibly can given its parent container, but it always maintains the same aspect ratio (the ratio of horizontal size to vertical size).

stupid question, but do chat logs and lin files of hands played/kibbitzed get saved locally when in the flash version? If not currently, will this be a feature in future?

can't log much (anything?) locally. We'll have to find a "server side" solution.

I tried the BBOTV Vugraph last night. You should be able to click on a commentator's screen name and see their real name. And if the operator has entered full names for the players, this should be available as well.

It would be nice if there were a place in the list of VG rooms that stated what language was being spoken there.

My comments:

I prefer to have the auction in the middle of the table rather than in the corner. My eyes naturally look to the area in front of the player for their bid to appear.

When you look explantions of bids, !C, !D, etc isn't being converted to , , etc.

I found the "movie" (I forgot what it's called now) a bit difficult to use and would really like to be able to bring up a score sheet and quickly look at what the other table did in much the same way as the current windows client. Perhaps it just takes some geting used to.

Question:

With the auto-resizing, could we far away from getting BBOTV to work on a large screen internet and java enabled mobile phone/PDA?

I also don't like the history viewer.

BBOTV uses Flash, not Java. I don't think most Internet-enabled cellphones support this. Has anyone tried it on an iPhone yet?

About the auction in the middle of the table, I am not sure if you are using hand diagram mode or pictures of cards. If pictures of cards you might want to try a new experimental viewing mode. Right click on the table and select "Show EW in four rows" in the menu that appears in order to enter that mode. If you are talking about hand diagram, I have tried putting the auction in the middle of the table, but it looked weird to me.

You will be able to see suit symbols in bid explanations in the next version.

The "my results" window definitely needs work. It will happen.

Sorry I meant to say Flash. My son has a Sony Play Station Portable running s/ware version 3.71 which I understand includes a Flash player. The screen is more than big enough to handly BBOTV. It's school holidays at the moment so I've left him with a project to get Flash working on his PSP before I get home from work.

My personal preference is pictures of cards.

I've just tried the new experimental "in four rows" view of EW's cards and it put the auction in the middle of the table where I like it, but I think it's going to take some getting used to having the EW hands layed out differently to the NS hands. My preference would be to have all of the hands layed out the same way but with the auction in the middle - but perhaps only achievably when using "small" cards.

A couple comments on BBOTV:

(1) Last night one of the commentators for vugraph posted an html link. This link was nicely underlined and appeared in blue. I clicked on the link, saw the other web page, etc. The problem is, when I went back to the BBOTV window all chat was now underlined.

(2) On the BBO windows version, you can use the abbreviations for suits (!s, !h, etc) in both chat and in your alerts/explanations. On BBOTV, it works fine in chat but not in the alert/explanations.

(3) It's mildly annoying that the -->Table part of the chat is in the same color as the chat. This makes it look as though people are saying "Table" all the time when they're not. Might be more convenient if the chat target was the same color as the person talking instead of what they said?

If someone sees that happen again, please make a post containing the link that caused the problem.

The other 2 issues you raised will be addressed (and I would like to address this one too, but I don't understand how it happened - hopefully I can replicate the condition if I have the link).

Thanks,

Same problem for me, only giving the BBOTV link to a friend :)! The problem is, this doesnt happen every time; sometimes only the names get blue from the third letter and the first two letters of the new message (of all messages) are blue; rest is normal.

I'm using firefox. I tried to replicate the bug by sending a link by a private message.
It happens when you right click the link & open in new window AND someone sends another message before you reply.
It seems to happen with any link.(i tried www.google.com)
