Here are some hands I had in the LMP. Your partner is a good aggressive player from Detroit. However, subtle slam auctions are not his specialty so you may have to guess the contract sometimes.

1. A432 K10986 KQ43, N dealer, none

p - (p) - 1D - (1H)
1S - (2H) - p - (p)
3D - (p) - ??

2. J10AK932AK3J63, E dealer, both

1H - 2C
3C - 4NT
5H - 5NT
??

4NT is probably RKC, you show specific kings after 5NT.

3. 43AK76542AQ97, S dealer, Both

1D - 1S
??

Is your rebid the same if partner bids 1H instead?

4. AKQJ5764951052, W dealer, favorable

(2D) - 2H - (3D) - ??
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

My rebid? Heck, I already got my "lead director" in didn't I? Either I am missing something or partner's aversion to subtle slam tries is not the biggest issue for our partnership.
You must know the rules well - so that you may break them wisely!

2 and 3 - remember the hands.

1 - 4 should elicit pard's help.

2 - 3 is forcing isn't it?

1) 4D. Was tempted to bid 5 but sometimes the opps have a 4-3 fit or whatever. If pard has a stiff heart and some values he will kick it in. This could be a perfecta slam but I'm not going to try for it.

2) You know how I feel about 1H :) I would bid 7C now, I have a lot of extras in context of this auction.

3) 1N. I would have bid 2C if partner had bid 1H. I almost never do this but I'm loaded in clubs and hearts and dont want to play a 5-2 diamond fit lol.

4) 4H.

1. I passed :( .

Partner indeed had a perfecta: 98542 K AJ75 J108, I made 6.

2. I don't like to open 1H but that's what we agreed. I bid 7C, making. Partner had AK24Q764AKQ82. 7NT also makes and may be a preferable spot at MPs.

3. I bid 1NT, I would have bid 2C if partner responded 1H. 1NT making was a great score (they misdefended).

4. I bid 4H, partner had 94AQ109821086A7. The defense cashed two diamonds and switched to a club, down one (spades were 4-2).

I don't remember the Axxx of hearts hand but I really hate a pass. You know partner has 4+ diamonds and very likely a stiff heart, you need almost nothing for game.

Hi everyone

#1 You have a lot of winners opposite short hearts and decent 4+ card diamond support. I would go slowly because partners needs 4 'decent' diamonds or the hand could fall apart.

#2 I wondered what your 1NT opening range was here. Does 2C-3C show extra values? It apparently does not promise much in the way of club support. :(

*****If 4NT is 'probably' RKC, your agreements need a lot of work. Kickback* anyone with 4D* being RKC with clubs as trump. You can even ask for the trump queen at a decent level.******

I do not like 4m being RKC and prefer Kickback(4D*=RKC for clubs) Blackwood with a minor suit as trump feels wrong most of the time. Checking for the queen of trumps after 4NT as RKC with a minor as trump, often leaves you more than a little short of bidding space.

#3 1NT. When they misdefend, you should get a good score. :)

I rebid 2C if 1D-1H-? Spades may be wide open and partner should be the one to declare NT. after 1D-1H-2C-?

#4 Double of (3D) should be a full blooded raise to 3Hs. A direct 3Hs should be a decent single raise. Those spades are nice, however, those xxx heart spots are not.

Regards,
Robert

I would think that it is obvious from my posts that this was basically a pick-up partnership. So I'm not interested in hearing what our agreements should be, but rather what you would bid given that you have no agreements.
