Knowing my preempt style, pass

2S. Not worried about a "Grand" yet, rather hoping we might make a game.

I am not that optimistic about game, I think partner would need a maximum with very specific values so I will bid 3 and try to make it harder for them to find clubs. I don't hate 2 though, certainly in many peoples' preempting styles it's right to look for game.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

2S

There's a bit of a poker element to this hand. I really want some information here, and I dont think 3D is going to get it. We could have game in spades hearts or diamonds.

If pard tries 2N I'll shoot 3H. I'll pass 3D and I'll correct to 3D over 3C.

If LHO tries 3C I'll compete to 3D. If rho raises, I'll again suggest hearts.

If we sell out, I'd like a spade lead too.

Tough call between 2S and 3D, We're red at imps, so 2S.

This is a style question.
With my regular partner I'd go looking for game (or more). Our style is very constructive when it comes to weak twos - 2 promises a 6-bagger and 8-11 hcp! So I'd start slowly with 2 and see what happens. I'm not much concerned about a game with opponents, but will try to find our best game (or slam) if any. Else I'm going to compete to 4 if needed.
Kind regards,
Harald

Assuming a standard 5-10 HCP Weak 2D, We have 15-20 HCP and should rate to have relatively few 's. Where are the opponents?

Either my LHO has a moose or pd has closer to a maximum Weak Two than a minimum and We might have a playable 4M on fit.

If pd has opened a 6D331 or 6D322 with a 3 card Major, 2S will start things off reasonably.

If pd has opened a 6D421 or =1165, or pd has one of the hands above w/o support, pd can correct to 3D and We are fine.
(There's a partnership style issue here too. What hands would pd open 2D with?
If pd would not open a Weak Two with 65 and =would= open a Weak Two with a side 4cM, say xxxx, then the odds of Us having a possible 4M contract go up appreciably.)

2S by me opposite most pd's I know.

This is the board. I pass 2d and when west bid 4c I realize and regret not biding 2s. My pard was expert and he made 5d with a bad defense(led club) by opps however 4s makes either.
