If your LHO's 3 call had been a pass, then I would have said that this looks like a very normal auction for this hand.

However, the actual auction doesn't make much sense I'm afraid. I think that it comes down to what you think LHO and partner have for their 3/pass, which is more of a poker problem than a bridge problem.

I'm closer to pass 3 than bidding 4. But 3 is good anyway.

Your bidding was fine.
Not playing SuppX, partner would raise with 3 card
support, either direct after 2H (unless he is 4333),
or after you bid 3S, he did not.
And he will also raise 3S to 4S in case he holds
Ax or Jx in spades, when game has reasonable chances,
and again he did not.
