Best way to show hands is to click the button that says Fullhand, or onehand, or northsouth, etc. When you do that, a new window containing a template opens. Type in the hand in the template then click generate and you got it.

The other way is to take your mouse, and point to the symbol you want to insert. Then CLICK the symbol, and it will be inserted. Most of us just type [cl ] (no spaces), or [ sp ], or [ he ] or [ di ] (again the bracket and the lettes with no spaces), to get club, spade, heart or diamond symbol.
