I liked my choice of 1♠ and all was going well until my partner wanted to be in slam.
We have no agreement here over interference, what do you do?

What should I add to deal with this in future? D0P1 seems to be simplest and least likely for me to forget when this comes up again after another 300 hands.

I like your 1♠ opening as well.

Not sure how to show one keycard plus a second-round control in the enemy suit plus the queen of trump plus a void diamond. I'll just bid 6♥ which is unlikely to get misunderstood and very likely to be the correct contract.

Btw, to what animal species did West belong? Pass twice and then overcall at the 5-level?

Hi,

I think 6H is the most practical bid.

This will tell your, that you hold a void and
a key card, most likely he will give you a
club void, but ...

If you are missing the Ace of clubs and the
Ace of hearts, ... ***** happens, and they may
not lead clubs, because, they may believe you
have the club void.

Three possibilities:

1. 6♦ shows one key and a ♦ void over the interference. It is very space consuming however.

2. A practical 6♥ has merit too.

3. I think I like the slow approach of pass to show one key.

Well I did none of of the suggested options, I ‘corrected’ to 5♥ and my partner thinking I was showing 2keycards bid 6.

I would not assume my partner knows DOPI without evidence to support that assumption. In fact, I know that many of the people with whom I play in local clubs don't know DOPI.

I also know player who, if you pass here (absent agreement to play DOPI) will get confused, and then there's no telling what they'll do. With my usual luck, probably pass.

Adding DOPI to your card seems a reasonable thing to do. OTOH, so is, IMO, agreeing not to play Blackwood at all. Instead, agree to learn to control bid.

Agree 200%. I would add: learn quantis and unusual 4NT first. As a bonus you may later learn that if 4NT can't be quanti and it can't be unusual, it asks for keycards,

Heh Im not sure how cue biding or U or Q4nt help me here, you cant be suggesting that I cue 3♣ after 2♥'s?
