X is clear in both situations. I allready bid my diamonds twice, promissing more/better diamonds than I have. I don't agree with my second bid in either of the auctions. I would have X'd in the previous round.

As for editing a poll: You can't. Sorry. Unless you're a moderator.

Hi,

1) X, at least for me pass would be forcing,
and I dont really want partner to bid 5D
2) X, a bit tougher, ... you want to play game,
but you are missing a club stopper, 4D will
get you know where, 4H is an option

With kind regards
Marlowe

1. Pass. Double isn't clear for me at all, especially at IMPs. I have exactly what partner should expect for this sequence - 2 shows 10+, and 4 shows a willingness to compete a little higher. Its not MPs, and I can't expect -2 with a x. I also can't expect 5 to make. Pard is still in the game, although pass most certainly is not forcing.

2. 3 is a serious underbid when 3N or 4 look very possible. I'm really stuck over 3, but would double, especially if pard would take it as a good hand with no clear direction. However, since 3 that is an underbid by about a King, I think I tend to show a hand with one more trump, and one less king - something like: QJTx, Kx, AKxxxx, x, so it's more penalty oriented than what I have.

I would double on the first one, but I would have passed on the previous round.

The second one was a clear 3S bid on the previous round. We want to be in game but we have no club stopper. I guess that I double now;
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

First one, I would have passed over 3 and now I would clearly pass at imps. At MP I think I would double 4 however, and lead the Q,

Second one, I would bid 3NT. I can't believe people are planning on rebidding diamonds again. 2 overcall is usually six card suit, and I freely rebid 3 earlier in the auction (not the best choice there btw). So i don't have anything extra in diamonds. While the spade QJx suggest playing defense, doube is not attractive to me, and my 3 bid has not shown my values. If we are going to play in 3NT there is only one way to get there. Bid it now, so I do.

1. Pass. This is not a forcing auction, and you have no offensive or defensive extras for your bidding.

2. This is interesting.

a. If North is a good player then I am not sure that we can defeat 3-black.

b. I am not enthusiastic about our side's offensive chances despite my 17 HCP. I think a bad diamond break is likely.

c. I feel however that bidding anything but 3 over 3 is too much of a position.

I suppose you should pass now, continuing your position.

Why?

Would it still have been forcing if you had passed rather than bid 4?
