Unfavorable, partner opens 1, opp comes in with 2 (or dbl).

You hold Axxxx xx Jxx xxx.

What would your bid be at MP? Any difference if IMPs? Does RHO's interference, be it double or H, affect your decision?

What if your holding were

Axxxx x Jxx xxxx

What now?

Oops, fixed first hand. Pretty irrelevant spot card missing.

first hand has 12 cards. Second hand I would bid 3S at unfav.

3; I don't think where you put the card will affect my decision....maybe if you put it in spades then I will consider 4.

Hand 2, 4, without a question, X or 2, doesn't matter. Without the interference, this is borderline between 3 (if it's pre-emtpive) and 4.

Hand 1...3, probably.

I would normally bid 3 on the 5-2-3-3 hand and 4 on the 5-1-3-4 hand at vulnerable. At NV I'd try 4 on both.

4 with hand 2 at any vulnerability.
4 with hand 1 at favorable, 3 at the other three.
