Watched Ms. Ali on a late night comedy talk show this weekend. She is a very impressive woman. I hope she becomes a citizen and runs for office someday.

NPR had a prety decent hour long interview with her a couple weeks back.

Thank you very much. I was not aware that she appears to no longer consider herself a member of the fundamental religion of Islam and that the Koran is a Holy Book from God.

The Quran is the old testament, no? So with age, it lost its godliness? How sad. But youth must be served and the New testament is so much better.....if only they had included all the apocryphal gospels....then there would be something to discuss.
The Grand Design, reflected in the face of Chaos...it's a fluke!

I assume Mike is referring to "Real Time with Bill Maher". I just watched that last night as well, and I was equally impressed with her.

Unfortunately, I don't think she has much chance at winning high office in this country. She seems much too rational, I wonder if she'd be able to play the political games necessary.

And not that it should matter, but she's also quite easy on the eyes.

I don't know what is meant by "impressive woman", you are probably right. I prefer to judge a politician by her political opinions and I don't like some of hers. I do like that she stood up against the way women are treated in many islamic societies, and tried to change this in the Netherlands.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

Could you elaborate on this? Just curious.
