Version 4.8.7

Here's the first of what I expect will be many small suggestions:
Right now, there is an online Vugraph from the Women's Elite Tournament. The Vugraph Banner is displaying two different things:
1. A standard label saying "Vugraph (Live Broadcasts with Commentary)"
2. A scrolling banner that says "Live Broadcast in Progress"
Personally, I find the scrolling banner extremely distracting. Its sitting right in the center of the screen, constantly moving, constantly drawing in my eyes. Its very difficult to focus on anything else.
Associated with this, the banner overwrites the end of the word "Commentary". (Minor point I know)
Personally, I prefer if there were some other way to display that a live vugraph was running. Perhaps you could color code the display? Black with Yellow lettering when nothing is running. Black with Green lettering when there is a live Vugraph going on?

This is such a change, maybe it should be version 5.0... :-)

Under where the names are displayed there is an Options button
Options->number of columns->1-8
Personally, I think any more than 4 is too much but to each their own...

(including on the table view)

When I navigate into the Team Matches list, and then back out, each of the categories of tournaments have the same number of tables and players, which is the total in the "all tournaments" row. Then, the only action that correctly refreshes the correct total of each group is going into one of the tournament lists and back out again.
Thanks,
Dan

Would it be possible to have the scrollbar at the foot of the lobby list scroll more at each click if you click in the scrolling area, rather than with the left-right arrows. Right now, there is no difference in scrolling increment whether you click on the arrows or in the scrolling area.
Thanks,
Dan

Not sure this is a good idea.
People who use Windows a lot come to expect that they will be able to scroll through an entire document or list one page at time by clicking in the way you suggest. If I implemented your suggestion then I expect that many people would not realize that scrolling through the list in this way results in some columns of names being skipped.
If it is the fact that such clicks and the arrows have the same effect that is bothering you, a better solution would be to have the arrows work as they do in a traditional Windows scollbar - to move up/down one a few lines (as opposed to one page the way it is now). That was how I made the arrows work originally, but I did not like the effect - it was confusing and not especially useful.
So probably I won't be making any changes here. You can also hold down the right or left arrow keys, move the "thumb" in the scollbar with your mouse, or use the "start list at" command in the new Options menu if you want to scroll the list more quickly.

This suggestion (and the one to use Control-1, Control-2... to set the number of lobby columns) are both being considered, but even if we do these things it may not happen right away. For example, the next version I release (probably by the end of the week) will most likely have little if any new functionality and plenty of bug fixes.

But i think setting the number of columns for the lobby is not so usefull. I think i would prefer a button that would make the lobby wide or small.
If i don't want to look 1-3 columns are enough, if i want to search in the lobby i would like it almost full screen 8 columns.

I like this idea too, but not always will the person be at a table... so no table to join. On the other hand, they might be in a tourney and no chat allowed either.

Probably "find person" will eventually work in the same way as a right-click on a player's name in that the user will be able to select from various options (including "join table") that pertain to that person.

This isn't a high priority thing, as it's still possible to see names, it's just a little harsh looking. I also imagine that it might be annoying to code, and I love coming up with those types of suggestions.

I like the new "seeking game" feature, but i think names should remain green until the table at which one is sitting gets filled.

We have never allowed people who are sitting to jump to another table on the theory that this would make it easier for players to leave in the middle of a hand (which is obviously something we try to discourage).

Disagree - once a person is sitting he is no longer "seeking a game" - he has found a game even if the game is not complete yet. Other people who are looking at the list of players seeking a game will be better off if the list they see only includes people who are still actively seeking a game (so they don't send unnecessary messages to people who have already found a place to play). The player who was seeking a game, but is now sitting is also better off - he does not have to bother with answering any more invitations that he doesn't want.
If, after accepting an invitation to play, a player who had been seeking a game decides he is not happy with his table, he can always leave his seat. He will then appear on the seeking a game list again and wait for an invitation from another table.
