In Washington D.C. they are closely watching the trial of "Scooter" Libby, but outside the beltway there is little reaction.

It reminds me a lot of the Watergate days, when a seemingly small and bizarre incident led to the resignation of the president. Then we had names we weren't familar with, like Colson and Butterfield - now we have Wilson and Libby.

The basis of the trial is whether Libby "outed" Wilson's wife as a CIA operative in retaliation for Wilson discrediting the Africa/uranium/Iraq triangle so dear to Cheney and Bush - Bush still used it in his State of the Union address that year although Wilson had gone to Africa to investigate and reported back there was nothing to the claim.

Could it be that this small little trial could lead to revelations of manufactured intelligence, manipulated reports, and outright fraud to start the Iraq war?

Could this be the Bush/Cheney Watergate?
