This hand came up in a cup match last night. We reached 6♦ after a rather dubious bidding sequence (let's not go into that). In real life trumps broke 3-2 and the slam rolled in, but can you guard against trumps being 4-1?

Win the lead in dummy lead a club to their ♣A. Assume they return a heart (no return better). Win in hand, trump to dummy (discovering the break) and ruff a club. Now cash two spades. If neither is ruffed, you're home. If they are 3-1, cash the third high spade, trump to dummy, draw trumps and claim. If they're 2-2, play a trump to dummy, draw the last trump pitching the third high spade from hand. Now dummy's spades are good.
