Hello BBFers,

Red vs white I was holding:

S:-
H:KJT9xx
D:Kx
C:AQJTx

LHO opened and the bidding went:

1S---pass---3D*----3S*
4S---pass---pass---dbl*(p/c, tooked too good on DK)
pass--5C//

3D alerted as fitting jump with value. Without agreement with pard, I hope pard take 3S as either single long minor suit or sharp two suiter. Pard argued laterly that 3S was asking stop for 3NT only and his 5C is asking for my suit.

After 3S:
double after there would be t/o as 3D was real suit.
direct 3NT would be remain to play, gambling?
If so, what would 3H follows by 5C refer to? better hand?

I'm not sure whether I took it right or not. Any sysmetical thinking?

Merry Xmas,

Jack

As 3D was a fit showing jump, I don't see why you did not bid 4D instead of 3S. That could never have been misconstrued.

Good point. Would the contract stop on 4C? Not likely.

In your system, dbl showing 2 suiter also 4D, which is for stronger hand?

3 followed by 5 : 6-5
4 : 5-6

You might choose to play that only 3-level jump cuebids are stopper asking.

At least it will be clear in future situations.
