... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

4♠. Keeping it simple while maximizing the pressure. Bridge is not always about perfection... I wrote in another post against randomizing, but some hands are best handled by randomizing (bashing) and this is a perfect candidate. No-one can have any idea of who makes what, so make them guess last.

We agree. Why give then time to sort out which hand type opener has ? This is not a strong raise to 4♠ to me since the Q of ♦ is probably useless and there may be some H losers.
The opps may be under great pressure to guess whether to X 4♠ or try something at the 5 level. I'd expect to be doubled rather often, but maybe it makes, or maybe the opps can make something. One thing's close to certain vs good players and that is if you take a slow route to 4♠ and it is more likely to be doubled if it is in trouble.

4♠. Attacking bids pay off.

Even though we have about one and a half defensive tricks... I still think it's weak enough for the jump to 4, but I'd do so reluctantly, and only because there's no better alternative. (Not quite strong enough for 3♦.)
The difference between theory and practice is that in theory, there is no difference between theory and practice, but in practice, there is.
