I wasn't supposed to be doing this, but I stumbled across what I think is a major improvement that was easy to implement. Names in the lobby and table lists are not left-justified (instead of centered) and stars appear to the right of names (instead of the left). This makes the lists a lot easy to read in my view.
If you like the old way better, you can use the "center items in lists" checkboxes in the Lobby and Table tabs of the Options dialog. Also, in the lobby tab there are options for putting stars on the left or right and an option to display masterpoint symbols (or to get rid of star symbols) as well.
Hopefully you will love this so much that you will be inspired to help me track down 2 bugs that may or may not be fixed in this version:
1) Sometimes it takes 2 clicks to play a card (I have no idea under what circumstances, but more than one person has seen this happen).
2) Sometimes the chat scrollbar flickers (the only report I know of this comes from a reliable source and happened when playing in a tourney with non-wide screen and with the BBO window vertically maximized).
The first bug is definitely serious enough to stop us from doing a release for non-volunteers until it is fixed. The second one might be too. I might have fixed these things already. I don't know.
In general it is easy for me to fix a bug that I can replicate. If I can't replicate a bug, the more details I can get from people who can, the better. Details fall into 2 category:
- as complete a description as possible as to of what you see (screen shots are great if appropriate to the bug in question)
- the value of critical BBO settings (classic view, wide screen, big deal...)
Please report problems either by a forums post or by e-mailing: fred@bridgebase.com
