why was my post on acbl tournies no kibbs deleted?
no one even bothered to say that it was deleted!!!
there was nothing offensive about it, it only wanted to know what players had found out about the games since kibbers had been barred.
Is there something there that we dont want people to know about???

I wasn't the one who removed the thread, but I agree with the moderator who did. Maybe you missed my post to that thread (it appears below) or Hrothgar's that came soon thereafter which demonstrated (I am sure it was not intentional) that my fears were well-founded.

I don't think that it is constructive or appropriate to have a public discussion like this.
Where your "study" is leading is to a measure of how many people were cheating by kibitzing themselves. There is a good chance that your methodology for measuring this will be flawed and that the existing sample is too small to draw any meaningful conclusions.
Even if you could measure this accurately, publicly speculating about what % of our members were cheating by self-kibitzing is not appropriate in my view. This is just 1 step away from publishing a list of people you think were cheating (which would no doubt fall out of the same data).
This could turn into a witch hunt.
Here is what is important: that we know cheating is a problem and that we are dealing with it as best we can.
If you are not satisfied with the job we are dong and if you find the numbers interesting enough to warrent a study, of course you should feel free to investigate and to send us whatever you learn.
But please let's keep it private. We have seen plenty of cases where people who "obviously" seemed to be cheating were later learned not to be. Dragging innocent people publicly through the mud is something we must not let happen.

yes i never saw any of the posts to the topic other than frostys.
it was never intended to be a witchhunt, what I was interested in is what people WHO PLAY IN ACBL BBO GAMES thought.
what i have always noticed on the fourms is that there are people who will rant and rave about any topic, similar to trolling....i just wanted to hear from people who were playing in the acbl games and see if they had noticed any change. So after playing in games i posted link to the topic in tournament chat room.
So if someone was making a witchunt out of it it wasnt me i just wanted to know what the acbl players thought.
I dont know after this i am beginning to think that it is better to stay away from this place and not post on the forums.

Nobody suggested that you were trying to start a witch hunt or that your original post was created with some malicious intent.
We were worried where such speculation might lead so we stopped it. Sorry if you don't understand or disagree with our reasoning, but hopefully you can understand that we feel we have a responsibilty to prevent Forums from being used in a way that might wrongly damage some of our members.
None of this was personal - we just wanted to close what we judged was a dangerous can of worms that you had opened.
