When the forums identify a poster, it includes the login name and a picture (if any) as well as some random statement about number of posts. Is it possible to include a first name in this field (at least optionally)?

The reason I ask is, I see a number of people try to refer to other posters by their first names, often by incorrect first names. I know I've been "Mark" on a number of occasions, and recently Phil Clayton has been "Peter." Of course, this is an easy mistake to make when you're guessing the name from a login name, but I think a lot of us would prefer to be called by our real names instead of a pseudonym. This can be optional of course, in case people don't want their real names known (but I think this is a minority of us).

Hey Mark,

Remember the denim jacket and button fad that went around in the late 80s? I always
thought it looked kinda silly but I did see one button that I thought was funny. It said "I have trouble remembering names. Can I just call you asshole?"

Along the same idea, I would like to know (whenever possible) a user's BBO ID, if it is different from the forum ID.

Mark has a good idea... (I am the moron who called adam mark, on more than one occasssion)...

Here is potential solution. Edit your profile and add your name to your signature. That way every post you make (or any old post you have already made) will automatically display your name. I added --Ben-- to the bottom of my signature line.

To do this. click the "My Contol" link at the top of the page. Then click the "edit signature" link in the menu along the left hand side of the page. Add what ever clever saying you want to your signature line... like the oldie... "Bridge id like sex, if you don't have a good partner, you better have a good hand" or whatever, then your name (or just your name).
--Ben--

Excellent idea. Do as Ben suggests or sign your posts like others do.
