So, when all is said and done, how will this decade and the debacle in the Middle East be remembered in the public consciousness?

Was the terror threat "Bushanized"?

Were democracy and the freedoms of the individual "Busherated"?

Will "Bushing" refer to the close-minded, all exclusive exercise of incivility?

Please, propose your own catch-phrases. Who knows which one might catch on....

btw Not to seem above all this in Canada with our heinous participation in Afghanistan....Steven Harper has been "Bushnotized"

I am unclear are you saying Canada or no one should be fighting in Afghanistan or that Nato countries should be sending more people to fight?

It is clear that Afghanistan has been a "killing ground" over the last several centuries (as far as European civilization is concerned) Despite this, they managed a relatively brief period of westernized prosperity. The Talibs, Mujahideen, warlords and Jihadi's have been there and will continue to be there whether we are or not.

My point is, they do not need us, or our children's blood, to consecrate their destiny as a people or as a nation. How would we respond to a foreign nation's presence in North America (locally I can think of the "Mohawk crisis" at Kanesahtake as an example) to arrange our internal affairs.....even if the tribal leaders appealed for outside assistance? (Whether to maintain their legitimate rule or otherwise....)

The military may need human grist for their milling operations but the day of the sword being beaten into a plowshare will not come as long as we continue to use the sword. The unprecedented military budget of the U.S. despite no "real" enemies or threats.....(that have not been provoked by their own actions) is a sign of the (end) times. Look at Vietnam. How are they faring since the U.S. "cut and ran".......a lot better than when the U.S. (or French) were there killing and destroying to satisfy the unquenchable apetite of the war-mongers.

That is what I mean. Don't be "Bushotomized". Use your brain for more than a conduit and transmitter of other peoples ideas and wishes. Our survival depends on it.

If I am reading this correctly the USA has no real threat or enemy but if we do it is our fault? So the USA is to blame?

Why did they not respond to Rwanda? Or Darfur? ooooohhhh yah, no oil there....

Don't get me wrong, imperialistic nations suffer the consequences of their actions...the U.S. just happens to be the pre-eminent case in point. I like the U.S. and its society and civilization. I find their oil-addled xenophobic political position to be against human nature and humanity in general. France in Indochina, Britain in India, Russia in Georgia, China in Tibet, Turkey in Armenia, they all had their "reasons" none of which was worthy of one drop of the blood that they spilled.

Too much of a sitting-duck for me (as good as it is...lol). But quite applicable to all members of the Bush-league.....hehe

Ok let me rephrase, do you believe Canada has a real threat or enemy that must be fought? If so how do you think Canada should wage the war?

Other than the Bush-league? Not a one.

Steven Harper (up to his eyeballs in incoming body bags) referred to the UN effort to help Afghanistan. The UN does not have a "peacekeeping" mission in Afghanistan. The UN has no "war" effort anywhere. NATO is conducting a U.S. induced police action to kill or render ineffective political and military units of a foreign government's political process. To wage war requires a declaration of war. The only one I know of is firmly ensconced in Mr. Bush' fevered brain.

Eventually, the U.S. may adopt the Roman "Barbarians at the gate" philosophy (build a wall, anyone?) and line its borders and seaboard with all of its military might. When no one comes to visit, they will get tired, withdraw and eventually leave the country unprotected.......I wonder if the newly emboldened Canadians or Mexicans will be able to take advantage.....

How about Bush league? :)

All in all, I would have preferred a bird in hand to two Bushes.
