Why do TD post high prizes in big letters on top for numbers that are never reached, them make you search for the $1 you'll actually win for tournament?

This practice is misleading and should be banned.

The people running cash prize tournaments have to pay the BBO, and presumably make a small amount for themselves. If the tourney list, say $12.00 for 1st place and there will be two first place in the pair that is 24 dollars. How many tables do you think they need to take in 24 dollars? At four dollars per table, 6 tables would bring in 24. Then there is 2nd and 3rd prize and all of that before BBO has taken there cut (whatever percentage that is).

So it is highly unrealistic to think the top prizes are quoted for the all conditions. In fact, they all explain how many tables must play before which prizes kick in. Perhaps they should start with the lowest certain prize and go up, but from what I see they are all pretty much straight forward about the prize conditions.

I am with dcap on this, they should be made to average the tables they usually have playing over a 3 month period and only be allowed to advertised top prize based on this historic data

This is just marketing and I see little wrong with it. In fact, as Ben says, I feel that they are quite open. If you dislike it, then boycott their tournaments.

And if this means that there are no tournaments available for you, then apply to run your own pay tournaments.
