When I log in I can't see all my friends that are online. They can see me online but I do not see them. If one of my online friends chats with me then I can see him in the lower CHAT area. My friend is well defined as friend and no speeling mistake. Did some of you faced such a problem ? to me it looks like bug in the SW program of BBO.
Missed to add that my friend is not logged in as invisible... moreover others can see him

your friend is logged in as invisible... .so you can not see him unless at the same table, or he sends you a message...you are logged in as visible, so they can see you. Try it, log on as invisible, send your friend a chat and ask if they can see you anywhere but on the chat area where you sent the message.

Another possibility.

The program may be excluding people from certain countries, or people with certain skill levels.

Try this.

Login to BBO
Invoke your profile ( click your own username, or press F10, or press control-p )
In the middle of the screen is an option 'Remember filter settings'. Clear it.
Exit bbo completely and login again.

This procedure makes sure that any "filters" are reset back to defaults.
