Scoring: IMP

I saw this hand last night, NS was playing 2/1 with common conventions.

3 ps----1S
1NT----3H
3NT----??

How do you feel so far? Would you try more? Given you bid 4NT (pushy:), respondence was 5C, now what?

Both hands as follow:

Scoring: IMP

1 table reached 6H. West led DA... long thinking...Cx... MK. Another table stopped on 4H, DA... long thinking...Hx...SA... ruff S, C back to hand ruff another....ruff D backto hand, draw trump...sadly 42... 4H-2. S need to drop Qxx (or finesse) against trump return....for 6H! South might have thought about it too much, lol. Simply drawing DK kills the contract immediately, but who will defence that way?

I hate that 3H, but not choice. Any comments?

Gazzilli is the answer:

1♠ - 1NT
2♣ - 2♦
3♥ - 3NT

2♣ = Natural, or any 16+ hand.
2♦ = 7-11 hcp.
3♥ = 17+, 5-4 in the majors.

Just pass 3NT. I stopped worrying about slams with misfitish hands.

I'd probably pass 3NT.

If making a move over 3N I can't imagine bidding anything other than 4♣, patterning out.

Bidding past 3NT is asking for trouble. 3NT is where it's at on this hand.

Use 1♠ 1N 3♥ to promise 5-5 or better, gf, and with 5-4 or 6-4, bid 3♣ over 1N as either 4♥ or ♣ or huge one-suiter: responder usually bids 3♦ to ask. Here, after 3♦ (in case opener has ♣), opener bids 3♥, north bids 3N and south has one of the easiest passes in bridge history.

I pass 3NT, partner does know
I am strong, but he does not
have a fit.
Calling 4NT pushy, is putting it nice,
partner did pass, did he?

For what's it worth, 4NT is quantitative,
i.e. it should show a semi-bal. hand with
22HCP, altough I wonder, if that would not
have been a 2NT opener.

After 5C, they will call the doctor, since I have
a asthmatic eruption, spilling the cards all over
the table.

With kind regards
