  • Interests:My personal interests are my family and my friends. I am extremely concerned about the lives and futures of the kids (and their families) that I work with. I care about the friends I have made on BBO. Also, I am extremely concerned about the environment/ ecology/ wildlife/ the little planet that we call Earth. How much more of the world's habitat and food supply for animals do we plan on destroying. How many more wetlands are we going to drain, fill, and build on? How many more sand dunes are we going to knock down in the interests of high-rise hotels or luxury homes?

never heard of baronized acol, but heard the term "animal acol" once or twice about 35 years ago. Don't have a clue regarding the system. I always suspected that it might have placed some priority on losing trick count because it was explained to me the a hand such as xxxxxxx, xxxxxx, void, void was a opening 1-bid becuase it had only 6 losers. Don't know if that is factual or if this is the result of poor memory. Other than that tidbit, I know no more about it. I, too, would be interested if anyone has info on this.

A Google search for "baronised acol" gives some info including this BBO forum link

It seems to be Acol (of many years ago) with some elements of the Baron system added.

I've heard the term Animal Acol in Australia with reference to the early/mid 70's.
