was looking at the results for the NABC at Dallas and saw the ad for OKBRIDGE saying that acbl masterpoint games were coming soon!

What will be their tariff?
To me (posted before some time ago), BBO appears trailing in tourney front compared with OKB. There is faster tourney, swiss movement, unclocked tourney in OKB. The quickest ones would complete in 1 hr 5 mins. Normal ones 1 hr 15 mins. And their 1st OKB regular daily tourney starts 2 (or 3?) hours ahead of 1st BBO ACBL, the 11am. And they offer alternate scoring format (IMP/MP) on day-to-day basis, i.e. Monday IMP/MP/IMP ... Tuesday MP/IMP/MP .....
To me BBO may still has an edge that BBO is so clever to stay clear from the rating system. If you (most would) think you are a better player than your rating indicates, you would not easily get a partner that you think you deserve.
So using words from the BBO ACBL directors, to BBO on tourney area, 'Step on the gas please' .......

Another front BBO has an edge - the partnership desk.
OKPlus offers similar partnership desk as BBO. Invitation is made on a button click and Pop up winidow is displayed for accept/decline. I think they copy from BBO. But OKPlus is awfully slow.
OKWin only offers chat based partnership desk.

not familiar with the okbridge rating system....though if you have bridgebrowser you can see the ratings for players on BBO.
Thing about BBO, is that you only have to pay once for playing in acbl games. Though talking with Gweny it would be nice if we could get swiss teams and or mini KO's for ACBL games.

just saw the add in the new acbl bullettin....coming May1....they have a new tournament or masterpoint package for $49. though you have to be an OK subscriber already....so no mention as to wether or not you will still have to pay thrice to play
At least BBO keeps it simple....FREE.....1$
OH, though the OK add in the bullettin says they have all the stars

$49 per year + ok member price for up to 6 masterpoint tourneys per day
Given I play at least once a day for 250+ days of the year, it seems this would be a reduced cost from BBO.
However since Ok has to pay the ACBL for the tourney rights, I wonder how they can afford to charge just $49 for a whole year?

Maybe in addition to their tourney membership? My mother plays at okb. She pays $99 for a yearly membership. and $99 for a tourney memberhip. She plays two or three tourneys a day, so she finds it less expensive than the pay tourneys on BBO.
But BBO is a nicer place to play and I think ultimately I'd rather support BBO, who make a great contribution to bridge than okb whose first contribution is to their pockets. Everyime I spend a dollar to play on BBO I feel like I couldn't have spent that dollar any better.
