I can't remember which recent poster suggested this, but I'm reasonably sure its possible to post events in the calendar.

1) Click on calendar in the top right hand corner.

2) Write your event, etc. Just be brief, give title or so.

What do you think? Jilly's bridge club has quite a few events already. Want to try this? BIL lounge already posts Shep's lessons in calendar.

If there are enough events I think we should put a direct link to calendar from BBO.

Couple of issues. First the calendar does not give times. So if you enter an event, be sure to include the time in the description.

Second, don't over fill the calendar. For example, the BIL lessons for Shep are in the calendar for sometime to come, but if memory serves me right, a recent BIL newsletter said that Shep has stopped these lessons in BIL. (You can contact Shep, as lessons are still available). So lets not go nuts listing these....

You also need special access from the adminstrator to enter calendar entries that are public events.

i-abc lessons are set up so that people can receive email notification of upcoming lessons, I don’t want to duplicate information but if enough people would prefer to use the calendar maybe that can be provided too.

Yes please, calendar posting would be very nice. I have marked "track this topic" but do not receive notification of I_ABC events. I don't know why.

I checked this a.m. as I can view topics for new postings and there were none at that time.

I stumbled upon the tournament for Wed eve. 8:30 p.m. est by accident.

Everyone can post public events and private events, so if interested just post.

I know BIL has a forum of their own, not sure how active it is. Maybe they have calendar there. But a calendar for the whole of BBO could be useful, as long as it doesn't get too crowded with all sorts of events...

A couple fo things you can check are:

My controls - Subscriptions - View topics (check that the i-abc thread is here)

My controls - options - change email address (check for vaild email addr)

Let me know if this doesn't fix the problem.

Maybe your spam filter is catching these as spam and deleting them. Is there a way to check what is being deleted automatically by your software?
