Table 1:

1H--(2S)--x----p
3D--pass--3S--pass
4H//

Table 2:

1H--(1S)--2C--pass
2H--(2S)--3D--pass
3S--pass--4H--pass
6D//

6D went -1 on best defence.

Is east allowed to support spades?
Is South allowed to support clubs?

If not then tough to bid slam.

Just some suggestions.

Table 1:

1H - (2S) - 3C is a possible start. True, the club suit is not that great, but the 3C bid is a lot more descriptive than the negative X.

1H - (2S) - X - (p)
3D - (p) - 3S - (p)
4C

I think 4C here is better than 4H. The 4H bid is needed for the uninteresting xx - AKxxx - AQxx - xx, so with the actual hand, South must try to show the great shape. I like 4C.

Table 2:

1H - (1S) - 2C - (p)
2H - (2S) - 3D

3D sounds to me like a real 4-card suit. I don't think a fake second suit is ever needed here, when 3S and 4C are available (and perhaps X too !). South didn't even consider the possibility of a fake reverse, and 6C became unreachable.

1H - (1S) - 2C - (p)
2H - (2S) - 3D - (p)
4D

I prefer 4D (or maybe 4C if 3D doesn't promise 4) to the vague cue-bid. I actually like to keep 3S for the stuck hands : xxx - AKxxx - Kxx - Qx, so that responder doesn't have to worry about the other bids (3H, 4C, 4D) having been made with one card less.

It is a bit of a thin slam, coming out of a combination of "miracle" cards in N/S hands. I'd not be very concerned about missing it.

Table 1:

1H--(2S)--x----p
3D--pass--3S--pass: no problem up to this point. I'd bid 4, at this point, rather
than 4 (which is a bit shy). Now N should bid 5, if there must be a chance for slam. I'd not criticise a 4, mind.

Table 2:

1H--(1S)--2C--pass
2H--(2S)--3D--pass
3S--pass--4H--pass
6D//

The bidding at table 2 is a bit funny: it almost looks like S is starting very slow (2, rather than 2), and then starts to accellerate, ending up in 6! I would bid 2, as 1st rebid; OTOH, assuming the auction proceeds as posted, I would jump to 5 over 4. It'd confirm the spade chicane and offer a choice of slams. I am quite surprised that N accepts to play 6, in what should be - at best - a 4-3 fit, having a certain 6-2 fit in heart.

The lack of competition is a bit surprising, in particular at table 1 (I assume that 2 is intermediate strength), but E has an horrible shape, and just a good fit in spades (4 is 3 down, btw)

this is is far as i got

1) 1h (2s) x (p) 3s

2) 1h (1s) 2c (p) 3c

it might be hard to find any slam now

Passing 6D could never be right.
