You will be given plenty of notice.

While the timing won't suit some members we have chosen one that I think will suit the majority - for those that are challenged - set the alarm or have an afternoon nap - it WILL be WORTH the effort !!!!!

Congradulations Maureen, you and your helpers are making the beginner/intermediate forum a reality. When I log on now, more often than not, something is going on in the club. The critical mass day is rapidly coming when it will be populated hopefully, continously (other than when you hold tourneys of course....) :-)

I am most happy and honored to be an active part of this wonderful club -- it is a great joy and pleasure to have players that want to improve and mature in the game come to those who willinging volunteer their time and services to collectively bring a newer level of understanding. I sincerely hope that I and others can further increase their participation and as my eloquent friend Ben stated, achieve "a critical mass".

One further note: I hope to be able to draft some lessons up myself from my teachings soon - slam bidding, defense, and judgement will be the major themes.

"Champions aren't made in gyms, champions are made from something they have deep inside them - a desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have last-minute stamina, they have to be a little faster, they have to have the skill and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill. " - M. Ali

Although I would like to take credit for the use of the term critical mass with regards to the size of the beginner/intermediate lounge, it was actually Fred who coined this usage as it relates to private clubs I just stole its usage from him:
http://forums.bridgebase.com/in...msg6750#msg6750

Perhaps he got it from Geraldo, who used it related to tournment play even earlier here in another post. But no matter, I have logged on twice more today, and each time there was a table in play in the B/I forum. The momentum has started, and soon it will be a movement....

Fred

Who borrowed it from the physicists (where "mass" is meant literally).
