Against NT, lead from a broken suit with length if their best holding in the suit is to your right.

Much depends on their methods. If 1 would be bid on 4=3=4=2 or 4=2=4=3, then the 1N may be on 3=4=3=3 or 3=5=2=3. And declarer may have zilch in .

If 1 promised shape, then 1N is far more likely to contain a more significant holding.

In the former case, I have not heard enough to lead anything but a .

In the latter case, there is a strong(er) case for a non- lead. If I were going to lead a non-club, I'd choose the A, hoping that dummy does not hold the KJxx.

1 does not promise shape. Oppos are bidding their suit up the line.
OTOH, my guess was that oppos do not have a lot of fit.
IMHO, it would be best to lead through LHO strength.
And A allows you to have a look at dummy.
Scoring: MP

(1D)-P-(1H)-P-(1S)-
(1N)-all P

It may be just a lucky guess. IMO, the lead against a sequence 1x-1y-1z is a bit different than what you might choose after 1x-1N (not to mention 1N-all P).

Clubs are not a very attractive suit, and might as well be the main strength of E.
