No one Vul. Scoring, MP.

You hold: KTx, xx, Kxxxxx, Jx

RHO opens 1D, you pass, LHO bids 1S, partner passes, RHO bid 2S, pass, pass, X, pass.

What hand do you expect from partner and what is your action now?

sigh...why didn't he X 1S... This is so brutal. I would probably go with the poker approach and try a confident 3C hoping no one Xs or they bid 3S. 2N is probably the right bid though, but it sounds less "confident" like you have a big fit lol. 3D is SURE to be Xed. If 3C is viciously Xed, I can always run to 3D later.

3, I expect partner to have some (partner has some values but no first round double).
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

Not the best spot. Pard should have 5 clubs and 4 hearts, I would assume. And not many Hcp (10?). He should have 2 (or even 3) diamonds (what are oppos playing?). Overall, I vote for 3, but I would have preferred 1N take-out one round early

3 and hope they compete with 3. Partner is likely 2-2 in spades and diamonds with about 10 hcp and the only reason he doubles is because its MP's and they have a fit and stopped at the 2-level

quick X=you're screwed. quick pass of X= haha theyre screwed. slow X=they may be screwed. quick pass of slow X= we got this pard, theyre screwed. Slow pass of slow X= oh man, they might not be screwed but I have nothing to bid.

Slow X then slow pass is clearly optimal.

2NT is asking pard to pick a suit. (It doesn't make sense as natural after 3 passes by your side.) You don't want pard to pick a suit because you only have one suit in which to play: diamonds.

To pass when pard wasn't strong enough to double 1 is probably a quick and enjoyable way to get in an arguing at the end of the board.

All this leaves you with one bid: 3.

Hi,

in theory partners dbl is for penalty,
we know he does not have a penalty
dbl, they have at least 7 cards, I three
with the King, ... according to an old
famous german mathematician: partner
has at most 3.

Now I pass, hopying for a miracle.

With kind regards

Hi,

if partners starts arguing, I will shoot him, which
finishes the discussion process.

Partner is probably on some kind of 4333, 3 is our best contract.

Pard has a hand where he knows you have something....he has something.....he hates to sell.......he wonders what to do.......so you bid 3D opposite his stiff ace (or small doubleton) and hope they bid on or that the result is -100 only :P
The Grand Design, reflected in the face of Chaos...it's a fluke!
