Partners reopening double is takeout and usually shows a maximum hand (which is certainly consistent with the 4th in hand opener).

Convert or bid something else?

I would have bid 1NT over 1S (unless this is a gameforcing relay). I pass now.

Pass or 2♦ are the only choices. 2♦ rates to make, probably with an overtrick or two. So the question is do I think we can beat 2♣ two (seven tricks). I have two club tricks in my hand, probalby a third. So if partners 14 hcp can win four tricks (combined with my QJ of diamonds)? Lets give him three quick tricks (A, A, A) and all of those win tricks, we still need one more (and we have to win three clubs, not two). This is closer than it seems. But I will pass, as the majority of the times we will set this two or more tricks.

Pass. There's no guarantee pard will have 4 diamonds, so the alternative to 2♣X is rather "cloudy".

If they happen to make.. oh well, at least I can say "relax pard, it would be worse if 2♣X was a game" :)

I wouldn't pass 1♠, but then I didn't play limited openings ever.

If given the choicec I'll play 2♣X happilly

I'd have bid 1NT - I can happily pass partner's next call, and if he makes 1♠ in a 5-1 fit we probably had a better scoring partial in his 2nd suit. Now I pass.

Pass is the normal action when partner opens 1M and you play precision or similar.
1N may be better, and may be worse. And you would not believe how often oppos cannot resist the lure of 1♠-(P)-P ;)

I pass 2♣X, btw.

i'd have passed 1S unless playing herbert relays when opener's hand is *known* to be 2 suited... i'd pass the x of 2♣...

It's MPs if bidding 1NT is not insane then you should bid 1NT.
Here not only it is not insane but is probably better than 1♠ so not bidding 1NT is a mistake in my opinion.
