After, 1H or 1S (DBL), if 2D or 2H shows a fit, shouldn't a raise to 2H or 2S show a bust, yes, but with maybe only two cards? (ok, unless at unfav.)

We use the transfer to show a raise with an honour, and the direct raise to be honourless. I'm not sure that it is particularly sound to be systemically raising on a doubleton, even doubleton honour, although it is a tactical option.

Absolutely. That is the point of using 1S-X-2H as a constructive raise, it lets you bid a direct 2S on dirt (nothing more than a few spades and a total of 13 cards).

About the difference between the transfer raise and the direct raise.
To me a direct raise is a hand that would refuse any invitation to game when pd held an invitational hand.
The transfer raise shows a hand with 6-9 HCP that can accept at least one invitation to game. (Assuming you play 2-way invitations after 1M-2M or something along that lines)
About raising with a doubleton: sometimes, specially with honor doubleton and a distributional hand.
Example:
Kx, x, Jxxx, Jxxxxx
I might bid 2h after 1s-dbl showing a sound raise.
