3 is alerted as preemptive.

What do you bid?

and if you bid 3NT, do you intend it as to play or for pick a minor?

Pass

You say 3h is preemptive but not in what suit? hearts or spades or other?

1) I assume 3h=hearts preempt?
2) x of 3h by partner would be penalty in H?
3) 4nt by partner over 3h would be minors?
4) 3nt by partner over 3h or 3s would be to play?
5) 4 of minor by partner would be natural?

Pass.

Opps are in misfit, my trump holding cannot be picked up without losers by declarer if dummy (as likely from his preempt) has 0-1 spades.

I am one of the unanimous voters for pass. I lead the K. This way, so long as partner has an entry, I am scoring 2 trump tricks no matter who has the A.

I am glad this is mps: making the pass overwhelmingly correct, imho. I think pass is right at imps as well, but I am always nervous defending a doubled major suit partscore at imps unless the set is obvious.

It would indeed be useful to know what a direct double of 3 would mean: I would take it as take-out with a good hand: the type of double that can be left in but which is primarily interested in bidding: Say 1=3=(54) with a good 14+ hcp: x AJx AJxx KQxxx would be a good double of 3.

So what is pass and double? Say 1=4=4=4: x AJxx AJxx KQxx. This hand is worth a double of 3 on this auction, expecting partner to have a weak hand with length in and declarer to be playing everything out of his hand.

Hi,

I voted other (Dbl), but overlooked the fact, that partner
did double 3S, I thought he doubled 3H, which were
removed to 3S.

Partners Dbl is penalty, altough partner cant have a penalty
double, looking at my hands.

Marlowe
With kind regards

I pass, pd has points and minors.
I have trump and some minor suit cards.
This shouldn't make.

I thought my double was clearly penalty on this auction (had a take out double previous round), seems most people think it as take out but still pass it. Very few like my patner who bid 3NT, not really sure if natural or pick a minor. He is not proud oof his bid, but it was the first time we played and had had many missunderstandings before. That surelly influenced his decision.

I held...

But he was able to save the hand guessing everythin on the play. How would you play after x->AKJ, LHO discards 2 hearts

I find this a very wierd auction. How come a pard who was willing to let play 3 now suddently comes back to life after 3? He must have some hearts, and probably no hope for game.

I'll bid 4... no, wait. Better bid 3NT for the minors.. that way PARD will have to play himself out of the mess he created :D

I voted PASS -- again a "TRUST your partner" response from me --- he has doubled at the THREE level after passing up the opportunity to X 3 for takeout??

If I am wrong I am STILL maintaining partnership trust ( even if I decide NEVER to play with him/her again if too many of these decisions go wrong :P :P )

-----------SERIOUSLY I really believe that trust is the difference between average partnerships and GREAT ones :D
