Scoring: IMP

(P) - 1 - (4) - 4!
(5) - 6 - (X) - All Pass

You are playing for fun with your friends. 4 was a bit unwise and now you have to play in this mess.

Opening lead is A! Score.
You ruff and lead a spade towards your hand. King wins. Spade back and they are 2-2 with Ax on your right. RHO thinks for a long time, and plays a heart!

Phew. You're still in the ballgame. Now how do you play the diamonds?

If you run some spade, they both ditch hearts and lefty throws one club.

hook. It's pretty clear RHO has a diamond void.

Hmm... the Lightner aspect of this seems strong, but it wasn't actually as clear from the auction. I was trying to produce a natural auction, when it actually began artificially with 1 showing a minor suit opening or a weak NT hand. I only say this because I agree on the above auction, the hook seems clear. Let's just say it was much more ambiguous than that. Can we try again with this new information?

Can you think of any other reason the A wasn't cashed?

ressons could be
1. holding Qxx of diamond but this isnt intersting
2. gambling on down 2 (unlickly)
3. just a mistake. (depends on the player)
4 holding AQ doublton club, with the Qx of diamond. shape 2722
Option 4 looks nice.

So far LHO has shown A and Q and I think he has A as well, so he can not have Q with a passed hand. I play for the drop, but it may be wrong if RHO didn't cash his A.

RHO should have A imo. Why didn't he play and instead choose a ? He clearly has a choice. A might give a discard if south has a void. And clearly the s will come in for 5 tricks from East point of view, so it's now or never. I'll play for the drop...

IMO wasn't played because RHO has Q and Q, adn doesn't wanna give up his possible trick by playing s. I would play AK.

This is more solid than my arguments, I need to think deeper on this hands :)
