I always thought these types of 3C bids should be forcing (try to find the best game etc) but others have made me see the light. Pass.

i'd pass too cause partner would start with an x with a rock crusher... he's 2 suited and maybe 15 points on the high end

Pard might find a 4♣ call with the hand I'm worried about.
I'm trusting my NV opponent at pairs not to have 3 hearts here. So, there's very little room in pard's hand where my diamond suit sets up.
So we have found a landing spot where we have a hope at a plus score. Pass.

Pass for me too. 2N is a reasonably limited bid, and pard should make an effort not to complicate life. If he bids 3♣, I will respect his wishes.
More interesting would be a re-bid of 3♠. With 3 quick tricks, I probably would raise him to game.

As much as I like plus scores, pard is not interested in NT but he may well have more than a minimum. (At MP no need to bid the close games but some may be gutting out 3NT.) You can ruff some of his S losers and you have pure tricks outside so is 4C an invitation to game (or even 3D)? (or just to trouble....
