Since the link is "ginsberg" I assume that it contains new files for "GIB's" lib of hands :
"GIB" is a very good brigdeprogram....but that was not the question..... but if some files are missing, maybe this can explain it ;D ;D

I will try.
The problem you are having is that some of the archives you are accessing are in an incomplete pbn form. Bridgebase online can handle them, but an important thing is missing from the file.
If you open the *.pbn file that is only showing one hand, when in fact it has 8 to 16, you will probably see text that looks something like this...
[Date "1999.08.31"]
[Board "1"]
[West "GIB"]
[North "GIB"]
[East "GIB"]
[South "GIB"]
[Dealer "N"]
[Vulnerable "None"]
[Deal "N:A8.A7.964.AKJ953 KJ95.K965.3.QT87 T73.T4.AQT872.62 Q642.QJ832.KJ5.4"] (more)
This is repeated for each hand in the file. The files that work, like the resinger finals at this same site, have a complete pbn header, including importantly, two headers missing above. These are the event header and the site header.
You can get by without a site header, but if you want to see more than one hand, you will have to add an event header before each hand. It can be anything, I recommend the following...
[Event "Inquiry helped me"]
So that the beginning of the file will look something like this...
[Event "Inquiry helped me"]
[Date "1999.08.31"]
[Board "1"]
You will need to cut and paste the event header before the date in all the fields if you want to see all the hands. There may be other header problems in other files, but this fixes the gib v gib 2002 round 1 files.
Ben
Note of caution... if you open these files with a word processor or notepad, be SURE to save it as plain TEXT and with the file extension *.pbn (being careful not to save, for instance as *.pbn.txt). If you don't then you will still have trouble.
