Hi I have been both the bidder miscliking and there when others claim "misclick" as the reason for a wayward bid.
Would giving the players an opportunity to look at their bid and recomfirming it help or it would "slow down" the bidding too much?
I was thinking something like the "question mark" that comes on when you press the "back" button while on the main lobby of BBO, or maybe just a "your bid is " " is this OK?
Please comment.

Who want to click.. Yes, this is the card I want to play, and yes this is the bid I want to make, over and over, hand after hand. Not me.

You play 13 cards per deal, and make on the average 4 bids. In a 12 round tourney, that is 238 "yes" bids. No doubt we will become accustom to clicking "yes" so fast that it really will not help us much. This is a feature I DO NOT WANT, and actively do not want. I don't mind if others have it, just not me.

I am sure that whatever FG does -- if he does anything -- will be something you have to actively enable.


I certainly wouldnt mind a couple of new bidbox options

1. Confirm anything but a pass (I hold 0 hcp and rho opens 2C in 3rd)
2. Confirm a pass (I hold 16 hcp and partner opens 2N)

3. Confirm everything

Of course, we'd really like

I understand anyone can "make a mistake". But in this wonderful world of on-line bridge I would submit once a bid is made, sorry but it is made. Don't place the onus on Fred or BBO but rather the player. If the player is too quick to click then they must suffer the consequence.

Why make the majority suffer because of the few who are not paying attention? I am not saying that the undo request isnt bonifide. But if you pay attention to the undo request I wonder how many of those "misclicks" are lead directing or some other unauthorized information?

Granted I have been too quick on click but I personally refuse to ask for an undo in a tournament, the main club is another story.

In short, when in an on-line tournament against me please don't ask for an undo because I always reject.

Leave it alone don't change the programming unless you wipe-out all undos in tournaments.

As I have said many times before, I am not asking this for people click too fast or don't think, I am asking it for those who have disabilities that affect hand-eye coordination, or stability of hand movement. I don't see any reason why they should be punished for that, plus they probably would benefit the most from online bridge.

I don't care if there is an option out of this, but I think that it would be something nice to have for people.

because partner wouldn't be able to see that you tried clicking on something before.

Your have a very valid point Elianna and I did not give fair enough consideration to it. Therefore since this is only a game I will allow undo's for everyone's enjoyment and consideration.

Besides the maximum number of points you receive is not worth getting all upset about.

Fred says that he'll add an optional confirm button to the bidbox, perhaps for the next release of the client. I'll remind him

May I suggest an alternative to a Confirm button?

Let us click the Number and the Suit (which now immediately makes the bid), and then one more click to actually submit the bid.

This is different than a Confirm that would constantly pop up annoying some people. It is an additional click for each bid, but it would allow you to click the bid you intend to make, look at it, then click the Send button.

Was not clear, but yes, that is what I meant. Another (optional) button on the screen, much like the alert button

I think there is another thing it would be worth.
The partner's bid dont appear until your RHO has bid.
So, you could ask for undos until your op has been bid without UI, and, the time response bid from your p would not be an element on the bid, like the screens do in the f2f.
