Scoring: MP

West open 2H (weak), North bid 2S, East pass, South bid 2NT, West pass, North bid 3C, East pass, South bid 3NT and all pass. Lead S10 and S play 2 from dummy and E take the Q and the lead the H10 and then a small H W lead a D after HJ and then S only get 4 tricks (5 down), then the tournament leader adjust the score to 50% each because he sad that 3NT always makes.

huh?

i think i'd have asked if there were other boards i did well on that he'd like to adjust... nah, too sarcastic, wouldn't want to humilate the poor TD

First, don't read too much into the fact that ns and TD were from the same country. Second, this ruling was worse than bad or poor judgement, it was essentially illegal (I would go as far as to say incredible). If you haven't done so already, please send the details to abuse (abuse@youknowwhere.com).. where you know where is bridgebase.

This TD needs to be talked with to find out what was going on. Not everyone is cut out to be TD's, and I suspect this one needs some tutoring... at the least.

And not that it matters, but ask the TD how 3NT makes on Q lead? Also, for what it is worth 3NT was down at least one at 22 different tables in this tournment... none of the others at which was the score changed...
