Invitations to substitute in a tournament

When invited to sub in a tournament, I no longer can hear the "doot-deet" that alerts me to the 20-second (or so) window to accept the invitation or not. If I'm in another window, or a couple metres away from keyboard, then I'm often missing the invitation completely.

Sir.I too have a similar experience.Before I can observe the profile of the suggested player some one else accepts the invitation.Since the time out for an absent player is Two minutes there may not be any problem in offering 30 seconds.

I experience all the above but would like to add that I do not know if I am registered as sub as no acknowledgement of same pops up on screen

One has to accept AND tick in the box.One gets the confirmation immediately.However certain tournaments are reserved for some categories only.

When you register as a substitute a yellow box pops up for a few seconds in bottom right telling you your registered.
I have previously suggested sound for substitute invites but got no responses.
