Playing with a specific partner

You have a favorite partner and you want to play in a casual game to brush up on your bidding or on your defense. Or perhaps there's a new convention you want to try out before you incorporate it into your system for tournament play. Whatever the reason, you're interested in playing in a pickup game but only with your specific partner.

Here's how to do that:

Your first option is under Play or Watch Bridge. Click on Help me find a game and then click I have a partner. Take us to a table. This action will send an invitation to your chosen partner who can accept or reject. If your partner accepts the invitation, you and he will be seated at the first table available for a pair.

You can also click on List all tables under Play Bridge, choose one of the rooms, Main Bridge Club or Relaxed Bridge Club and see if there is an opening for a pair. You can examine the scoring method and any special notes about a table you're interested in joining by clicking on the More button. If you find one you like, let partner know and he can join you at that table.

And finally you can start your own table. This has the advantage of letting you choose the scoring method, having players ask your for permission to join (if you wish) and any special conditions you want for your table. You might want only 2/1 players, only SAYC players, only beginners, or any other condition you might like for your table.

Start this by clicking on List all Tables and choosing one of the rooms, the Main Bridge Club or the Relaxed Bridge Club. Once you are in your chosen room, click on the Start Table button that you will find above the list of rooms. Now type your partner's name in one of the empty directional spaces to the right and your name in the opposite direction. Choose your favorite scoring method, decide if you want to have people ask you for permission before they can join, decide on kibitzer options, type in a description of your game (if you wish) and click Start Table.

Now you and your partner will be playing with each other and as soon as two more join your table, the game will begin.
