North opens 1H, East bids 1N, West uses stayman andvthen bids an invitational 2N, raised to game.

South leads an apparent doubleton heart (N-S play 5 card majors).

We look to have 26 or so HCP between us which doesn't leave room for much in South's hand
The question would seem to be how best to maneuver against North

I am tempted to play low from dummy on the first Heart and then winning in hand.
Then lead a spade to the 9.

If it wins, great. If not, RHO will then need to do something nice for me...

I'll duck a club continuation toward's dummy
Duck a Heart towards the Jack
And let a spade run to the board

If North leads a Diamond, I'll win the King and then lead a spade towards dummy.

In general I agree, but I would not let the club ride.
Take the queen, cash the ace and try to throw North back in again.
If South has the jack and North unblocks, nothing is lost, unless North has four clubs, which seems unlikely.

5 tricks and I need 4 more. What does opener look like? xx, K109xx, AJx Kxx? Qxxx, K109xx, AJ, Kx? Or something else?

I think I had better use my entries to play on diamonds twice, playing for AJ or AJx of diamonds rather than xx, xxx in spades, while still having the possibility of Qx of spades. Eventually, will have to strip and endplay RHO.
