What methods are used to classify players in instant tournaments as A,B, or C?

We order the players by points (BBO points for BBO tourneys, the greater of ACBL or BBO points for ACBL tourneys). The top 5 are A, the next 5 are B, the lowest 5 are C.

For the players that come from the original play of the tourney, we use their points from the month that they originally played. The new player's current points are used.

When you play an Instant Robot Tournament, we find an old Robot Duplicate Tournament, and select 14 other players from that tournemant randomly. You then play the boards from that tournament, and we calculate your matchpoints or IMPs by comparing your score with those 14 original players.
