Arguably 6-11 is too wide a range for 2S though, and it's inconsistent with its cue range in other positions, like (1H)-1s-(p)-2H where it will cue with 10+.
Range should probably be 6-bad 10.
Also there's the issue of it probably devaluing the short ace a bit too much, and not giving some value for the 4th trump.

Yes, West didn't make a support double or raise hearts, so South rates to have 3+ hearts and the doubleton heart should have almost full value. West could have made a support double but North didn't know that when deciding what to do. South could have made a game try but game tries with GIB are pretty haphazard and North is likely to bid a no play game.

Ten points balanced are not the type of hands you want to make a cuebid opposite a human overcall.
Look yourself in the mirror, you know the crap you bid on, (Not talking about Stephen lol of course)
The actual hand is a great hand, 5 losers with a likely source of side tricks.
IMHO South dropped the ball by not making a game try.
Sarcasm is a state of mind

I agree South is worth another try, but North should make a cue bid. Not all 10 ct balanced are worth LR, but 2 bullets, 4 cd support and doubleton are. I bid 1s on all kinds of crap. But I bid on good hands also, and if partner has a LR if I opened the bidding I want to hear a cue bid not a single raise. If I overcalled on garbage, I'll just sign off in 2S and we'll play on our 18-22 HCP or whatever 8/9 cd fit at the 2 level, rarely a bad spot.

1. i have seen GUBBO's 2S in such cases. too wide ranging, mostly on crap.
2. if i had faith in GUBBOs understanding of game tries I would bid on.
3. if i had faith GUBBO would not arbitrarily take a sunny view, i would bid on.
