Playable in two more strains yet priority to show stopper without ducking possibility.
What is wrong with x? Minimally keeps pard in the picture. Or take a chance at 5C.

Dbl of 3d is (poorly) defined as penalty giving it bad options on 2nd turn. Then it's also bad that your 4c only shows 4+ clubs.

Wonder why not 3H - perhaps it shows a potentially much weaker hand. Double being penalties is obviously not a good system.

Still, I doubt you'd be writing this post if you'd passed 3NTX and scored up 1150 ;) You've got a nice hand, it's probably worth the gamble. Also surprised you didn't pass over 4HX when you hold A10x.

:) I'd still write it ahydra. Generally I don't worry about results as much as GUBBO's bidding screwups. I wasn't aware double would be penalty as Stephen Tu points out.
And 4C seemed "safe". Yes, I could risk and pass 4H. Thought better to play in 5-2 than 4-3.
